Glazed Maple Bars
A sweeter, braces-friendly alternative to chewy granola bars.

1 c. butter or shortening
2 c. rolled oats
1 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. flour
1 c maple syrup
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 9"x13" pan.

Combine cake ingredients well and pour into prepared pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

While the cake is still hot from the oven, pour the following glaze over the top.

2 c confectioners' sugar
1/2 c to 1 c maple syrup
Blend well and spread evenly

Cool cake in pan and cut into bars.
